“Walk it out…”
A few years ago God spoke those three specific words into my heart and mind. Just like that. No explanation. It caught me by surprise and took several months to figure out what His directive meant.
WALK IT OUT became the daily question on my spiritual journey. What did it mean? What was I supposed to walk out? How and where do I walk it out?
I turned a lot of pages in my Bible trying to find answers to those questions. And I noticed words connected to walk throughout Scripture. The stories of Jesus walking the land of Israel especially captivated me. While reading, I imagined Him hiking a dusty path up a hill near the Sea of Galilee, stopping to look back at the sparkling reflection of the sun out in the middle of the lake.

Eventually I understood what He was asking of me. And the words revolutionized my relationship with the One who walked across those waters.
Ultimately, those three simple words launched me into a new season that refocused my life as a believer in Jesus.
I also saw a thread connecting them.
First, WALK required movement. God asked me to wait … a lot! But then the moment came when He prompted me to move forward. Since I’m very prone to hesitation and procrastination, it took considerable time in prayer before I was ready to climb out of the mental and spiritual rut I’d settled into.
The word IT can mean many different things, but the first place I arrived was at Faith.

“And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
(Hebrews 11:6 NASB)
One by one, as I sought guidance, God provided strategic internal markers that He wanted to work on in my heart. Things like: Forgiveness. Trust. Hope. Peace. Vision.
Each destination prepared me for the steps I was to take.
Those steps were the last part. The OUT part. What He led me to do. Where He called me to go. It was the culmination of the other two.
I tend to be most happy at home, but in 2017 I finally leaped out of my comfort zone and traveled to Israel. On a tour that made the stories of the Bible come vividly to life. And while there I arrived at the reason for God’s words to me.

I discovered a passion to encourage believers in Jesus to visit the Land, reconnect with the roots of our faith, commit to read and know the Word of God, and faithfully support Israel and the people that live there.
Do you want to strengthen your relationship with Jesus? Do you want to walk out your faith more fully? If so, I welcome you to come along and WALK IT OUT with me.
